Visit of Pauline & Charles Ndigirwa,
to St Paul's, Sunday 12 May 2002

Pauline (née Grist) trained as a speech therapist in Leicester. Soon after qualifying, she worked in a short term post in Tanzania. She later returned to Tanzania with the Christian mission agency Crosslinks. There she works in Dar es Salaam as a speech therapist in a school for disadvantaged children . Her role includes sharing her speech therapy skills with the other staff.

In 2000 she married Charles Ndigirwa who works with the Salvation Army. Their first baby, Grace, was born in 2002. St Paul's is one of their supporting churches.

Shortly before they returned to Dar es Salaam, they visited a morning service at St Paul's and explained their work . They then shared in a communal lunch with the congregation. It was an opportunity to get to know Pauline and Charles informally, and learn more of their work, and what life is like in Tanzania.

Pauline also took a "Question and Answer" session

For many it was a chance to relieve Pauline of Grace, and have a cuddle themselves - here with Helen Vickerstaff, our church's link person with Pauline
