YOUTH WORKER, ST PETER’S CHURCH OADBY

St Peters Church has made a commitment to mission to youth by creating and funding a full time role for 5 years for a Youth Worker.


We are seeking someone who has a heart for young people and is passionate about seeking young people explore and grow in faith. We want to see our young people nurtured and inspired in their journey with Jesus and given the opportunity to discover who and what God is calling them to be.

The focus of the role is to work with the 10 to 14 year age group, linking with existing work in the Parish with younger children and 15+ youth. The 10 to 14 age group is under represented in our congregation, so the youth worker will need to bring enthusiasm and resilience to engage with this age group. Previous experience working with this age group either in a voluntary or paid role is desirable.

The role will require close liason with the clergy team and an enthusiastic group of volunteers from the congregation. Leading worship, running regular and one off events for young people and working with schools will be key activities.

This post is being recruited following the Diocese of Leicester safer recruitment procedures. Therefore any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and two references. There is an occupational requirement that the postholder is a Christian.

Salary : £23,000 pa
